Dental Assistant Training Program

Are you...

Looking for a new, in-demand career? Passionate about healthcare? Interested in serving vulnerable communities?

Ravenswood Family Dentistry is excited to offer a Dental Assistant Training Program that sets you up for success by teaching you all the skills needed as a dental assistant, and immediately offers you a position as one upon the completion of your training. No prior experience or knowledge about dentistry is required to qualify. All we ask for is your time, commitment, and willingness to learn as this is a paid, full-time position! The length of the training depends on you, at the soonest you can finish in 7 months and up to 1 year.

The program trains you step-by step by beginning with the fundamentals of sterilization. You will learn through a combination of virtual modules, hands-on training, and observation of our dental team at work. Based on your progression, you can start working as a sterilization technician within a month and familiarize yourself with the usage and maintenance of dental instruments and equipment.

After putting your learning into practice and proving your mastery, you will begin further training on dental assistant duties and divide your time between working on the floor and studying through didactic modules. This includes learning about dental anatomy, making dental impressions, using an electronic health record system, and much more! Once you have at least 6 months of experience in the clinic, you will take an exam to obtain your X-ray license and be fully evaluated in your dental assisting skills. After that, you will be a full-fledged dental assistant!
