The Recinos Family Story

Maria and her three children have been part of Ravenswood Family Health Network for a few years—finding care, trust, and comfort through its many services. Each family member has faced unique health challenges, and together they have leaned on Ravenswood’s services—pediatrics, women’s health, dental care, counseling, pharmacy, and more.

In July, Maria was worried when she discovered an unusual mass in her breast. She made an appointment and met with her primary care provider, Physician Associate Anita Leiva, who examined her and referred her for testing. Fortunately, Ravenswood has mammogram and ultrasound equipment on-site, providing Maria with access to care right away. In September, her results showed the mass was benign, bringing her great relief. Anita reassured her with follow-up care, and Maria left grateful for both the advanced technology and the compassionate team that guided her through a frightening time.
Maria’s youngest, five-year-old Fatima, has been receiving pediatric dental care at Ravenswood Family Dentistry. Earlier this year, she needed restorations and successfully completed her treatment plan in June and July. Fatima will return soon for a recall visit to ensure her smile remains healthy.
Maria’s son, Marckus, 12, has been managing his weight and blood pressure under the care of Dr. Davis. At his annual exam in May, they reviewed his school progress, diet, and exercise, and he underwent routine screenings. An eye exam at Ravenswood’s optometry department led to a referral for new glasses, while Dr. Davis reinforced healthy habits to keep him motivated.
Maria’s oldest child, 14-year-old Stacey, has been overcoming low energy levels and loss of appetite this year as well. With guidance from Dr. Davis and appropriate specialty care she has grown her appetite to eating three balanced meals a day and has reduced her exercise. By September, Maria noticed Stacey’s energy returning—she could focus on schoolwork and enjoy time with her siblings again. At her follow-up, she was praised for her progress and encouraged to include more protein-rich foods in her meals.
For Maria, Ravenswood has been more than a clinic, it has been a lifeline. From critical health screenings, management of chronic conditions, to oral health care, Ravenswood has stood by her family every step of the way, providing not just medical care, but compassion and healing.
