Dr. Jose A. Lopez was born and raised in Southern California. He attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) for ten years and earned his BA, MA, PhD, and completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatric specialization. He was a volunteer in several undergraduate research projects at UCLA involving children with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual disabilities, and children who were victims of child abuse. It was his work with the families of these children with special needs that shaped his interest in working with child and adolescent clinical populations. His three favorite hobbies are playing tennis, hiking, and traveling.
