Dr. Kawamura graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the UCSF’s School of Dentistry in 1982. He completed his Fellowship in Geriatric Dentistry from the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Wisconsin, and completed his Residency in Prosthodontics at UCSF’s School of Dentistry. Dr. Kawamura has worked in several private dental practices throughout California and Hawaii, and has been a mentor to the next generation of dentists as a lecturer, university faculty member, and as Director of General Practice Residency in Dentistry at the Veteran Affairs Dental Services in San Francisco. He has published two articles on geriatric dental care: Geriatric Dentistry, Caring for Our Aging Population (2014) and Hall’s Critical Decisions in Periodontology and Dental Implantology. 5th ed. (2013).
